md2quillpad
Converts a directory with Markdown (CommonMark) files to a Quillpad backup.
See miuinotes2md to convert from MIUI Notes to Markdown, which can then be converted to Quillpad with this tool.
Made for my sister :)
Usage
Put a notes directory in appropriate format in the working directory.
Run the following command:
md2quillpad
A backup directory will be generated.
Quillpad backups are contained in ZIP archives. Enter the directory (as paths must be relative to it), then create a ZIP archive:
cd backup
zip -r . ../backup.zip
Quillpad expects the ZIP to be pretty specific: the traditional InfoZIP (zip package on Debian and Ubuntu) works, the BSD tar does not.
Input format
md2quillpad expects the input directory to be structured as follows:
notesnote name.md: Note content in Markdown (CommonMark) format. note name can be anything, it is not used.note name.json(same name as thenote name.md, but different extension): The note metadata (currently required).
Note metadata is a JSON format with the following structure:
- Root object
title: Title. String. Optional.created_at: Time of creation. Number. Seconds since UNIX epoch.modified_at: Time of last modification. Number. Seconds since UNIX epoch.
Example:
{
"title": "Hello, world!",
"created_at": 1188497340,
"modified_at": 1773016740
}
Conversion details
Note contents are parsed to search for referenced images, which are then added as Quillpad attachments.
The time of creation, time of last modification and title are used for Quillpad note metadata.
